Linocut Thumbelina

When I was a kid I had a pillow with a print of a wild grown summers field. It had tall grass, dandelions, lily of the valley and it made me feel like I was so small I could live under the flowers. When I had a daughter I wanted to give her something similar, so I created this Thumbelina-inspired linocut to inspire dreams of adventure and safety.

I really love linocut as a medium. It's expressive and unforgiving and there are much more narrow limits to what you can do compared to drawing with a pen. But there are creativity to be found in those limitations and I don't mind it.

I'm proud to say that the print sold quite well. Unfortunatly printmaking don't match well with cats or babies though so I had to put it aside for now.
